Our Warranty — and Why the Structure Matters

Ultralec provides a 10-year workmanship warranty on every solar and battery installation. That's double the five-year minimum set by the industry code, and it covers the part that's genuinely our responsibility: roof mounting and penetrations, DC and AC wiring, isolators, switchboard work, and the labour to come back and fix anything that arises from how the system was installed.

On top of that, you get the manufacturer warranties on the components themselves — typically 15 years product and 25 years performance on our panels, 10 years on Sungrow, GoodWe and Sigenergy inverters, and 10 years on battery systems. We register these for you at commissioning.

Ask any installer this one question

Most solar companies are retailers. They sell you the system, then dispatch a subcontracted crew to install it. When something goes wrong in year four, the warranty chain gets complicated — the crew that did the work may no longer be engaged by that retailer, and you're left chasing who's actually responsible.

The Components We Install

We don't carry a huge catalogue, and that's deliberate. We install a small number of products we know are reliable in Queensland conditions, that have solid local warranty support, and that we're confident standing behind for a decade.

Panels — Jinko and Aiko

Jinko Solar is one of the largest panel manufacturers in the world and a consistent Tier 1 producer. We install their N-type range as standard — strong performance in high ambient temperatures (which matters more in the hinterland and Gympie than most people realise), low degradation, good shade tolerance, and responsive Australian warranty support.

Aiko is the premium option we offer. Their all-back-contact panels put the wiring on the rear of the cell rather than the front, which lifts efficiency and improves shade tolerance — useful on roofs with a chimney, vent or tree line to work around, and on smaller roofs where you need more output from fewer panels.

Inverters — GoodWe, Sungrow and Sigenergy

GoodWe — excellent value, strong hybrid range, reliable in our experience across a lot of installs. Good choice for straightforward residential systems and battery-ready setups.

Sungrow — one of the most widely installed inverter brands globally, with a well-proven hybrid and battery ecosystem. A safe, high-quality choice where you want maximum track record.

Sigenergy — the newest of the three and the most capable. The SigenStor system integrates inverter, battery and EV charging into one modular stack, which is a genuinely elegant solution for homes wanting solar, storage and EV charging without three separate boxes on the wall. Where budget allows, it's often the system we recommend.
