Downlights have changed dramatically. The old 50W halogens in many Noosa Hinterland homes run hot, burn out every 18 months, fade ceiling insulation, and cost a fortune to run. Modern LED downlights use 6–10W, last a decade, stay cool, and light rooms better. Ultralec installs and replaces downlights across Pomona, Cooroy, Noosa, Tewantin, Eumundi and Gympie.
Old halogens needed clearance from insulation (fire risk). Modern IC-F rated LEDs can be covered by insulation — which means you can safely reinstate full ceiling insulation for a meaningful energy saving. We use IC-F fittings by default unless you specify otherwise.
