Weatherproofing in Queensland
Queensland's UV intensity, humidity, salt air (particularly on the Noosa coast) and extreme summer storms are brutal on outdoor fittings. We use IP-rated fittings appropriate to their location, UV-rated outdoor cable, weatherproof conduit and cable glanding, and stainless or marine-grade hardware in coastal locations. Cheap outdoor fittings installed with standard cable fail quickly in this environment — proper specification from the start saves money long-term.
Pool Electrical Safety
Pool lighting and all electrical work within the pool safety zone requires specific compliance with AS/NZS 3000 pool area requirements. All circuits must be RCD-protected, and certain equipment must be low-voltage (12V or 24V). We carry out pool area electrical work correctly — including bonding of metalwork and equipment as required. This is one area where cutting corners creates serious safety risks.
